Position Summary

The Communications Coordinator works with the Communications Department in implementing appropriate marketing strategies on behalf of The Pregnancy Network. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for: maintenance and regular updating of all digital marketing; email updates to partners; the monthly client newsletter; blog post contributions; filming/production of in-house videos; media relations; podcast production; and other duties as assigned. 

Reports to: (Communications Manager) Primary (Executive Director) Secondary

Hours: 15-25 Hours a Week

Pay: Based on experience

Holidays and Benefits: 12 paid holidays, 1 day per month accrual of Paid Time Off (PTO) for the first 3 years of employment; Retirement option (SIMPLE IRA) after 1 year of employment matched up to 3%

Position Competencies

  1. Ability to effectively reach new clients and partners, especially through social media.
  2. Ability to use in-house recording equipment (camera, lighting, sound) to film and produce videos. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is preferred but not required. Professional camera presence.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Able to comprehend digital technologies used for marketing.
  5. Discernment for language and terminology that is in line with The Pregnancy Network values and plumblines.
  6. Evaluate and manage digital/online marketing metrics and statistics.

Qualifications for Employment

  • Must be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, including membership in good-standing, and attendance of a local church.
  • Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the life-affirming position and sexual purity.
  • Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith and policies of The Pregnancy Network.
  • Have experience serving as a volunteer in a ministry capacity.
  • Have at least 1 year experience in marketing/communications and/or sales experience.
  • Experience (with examples) of writing copy for marketing endeavors.
  • Detailed knowledge of social media and email applications.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Communications
    – Guide The Pregnancy Network organization in abiding by brand standards.
    – Assist in development of strategic marketing plans utilizing digital marketing, PR initiatives, and advertising. Marketing plans will promote podcast seasons, fundraising events, and volunteer opportunities. These plans should also have an emphasis on developing relationships with other organizations and reaching new clients.
    – Meet with local student and community groups to present information about TPN’s services or volunteer opportunities.
  2. Copywriting
    – Assist with copywriting and editing off all digital and print marketing materials, including but not limited to: brochures, programs, flyers, and letters and email newsletters.
  3. Media Relations
    – Meet with local press for interviews (including local radio stations, and reporters from local news media)
    – Assist Communications team in photographing events and gathering information for press releases.
  4. Filming and Editing
    – Use in-house production equipment (camera, lighting, sound) to produce videos related to fundraising events, special announcements, updates, etc.
    – Create scripts for individual videos.
    – Edit all videos using Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar application).
    – Write script and oversee production of client story video produced by an outside vendor.
  5. Podcast
    – Plan content for each season, secure guests and schedule episode recordings.
    – Host each episode, and oversee production including recording, editing, and publishing.
  6. Digital Marketing
    – Assist with creation of all mass emails used to market to or stay connected to partners as well as clients; responsible for design and copy. This includes two monthly newsletters – one sent to partners and one sent to clients TPN serves.
    – Assist creating and maintaining a monthly blog schedule and content.
    – Edit the work of other employees, as needed.
    – Create original content and maintain all social media platforms relevant to reaching both partners and clients.
    – Become an expert at social media marketing, recognizing the best times to post, the most effective and engaging kinds of posts to create, the most effective language to use, etc.
    – Work with the Communications team to create and implement social media strategies and plans, especially revolving around fundraising campaigns and other initiatives.
    – Utilize applications such as Canva to create appealing social media graphics; make sure all content complies with official TPN Brand Guidelines.
    – Work with Communications Manager to create and run ads across relevant social media platforms.
    – Create and maintain a detailed social media posting calendar on a monthly basis.
