Happy Mother’s Day

To all the moms,

Moms of children still at home or all grown up.

Moms who have outlived a son or daughter, or moms of babies they never got to hold.

Moms who have raised kids all on their own, or became a mom to someone who needed one.

Or the ones who are longing to be a mom and are still waiting.

On behalf of all our staff, nurses, and volunteers, TPN wants to wish YOU a Happy Mother’s Day!

We asked our staff to share a word of encouragement to share with moms in all different seasons of motherhood. Here is what they wanted to share:

Lauren, one of our Nurse Managers, shared this encouragement from one mom to another.

“I’m a mom to three little boys, and if motherhood has taught me anything, it’s that I have no idea what I’m doing! Oftentimes, I have found myself feeling like a complete failure. Like the time when I dropped my very new firstborn child off of his changing table. Or, there was the time I was feeling totally overwhelmed, my two oldest weren’t listening, and I screamed at the top of my lungs— at them. I don’t remember what I yelled, but I do remember their precious little faces looking at me like I was a monster. I could go on and on, I’ve got stories galore. My point is, if you feel like you’re failing, you are not alone.  But, there is grace.  Lamentations 3:22-23 says “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.” Every single morning we get another chance and even more grace.  How reassuring is that?  So when those moments of motherhood come, and satan whispers in your ear that you’ve failed remember God’s promise.  My son doesn’t remember that time I dropped him on his head.  When I asked my sons about the time I screamed at them in the car, unfortunately they remembered. But, they both reassured me it was okay. Because after it happened, I told them I was sorry and that I loved them. Talk about grace! God used my less-than-perfect moment, and used me as an example to my children. They saw how to admit when you’re wrong and ask forgiveness – and that’s what they learned! So give yourself grace, mama. God is faithful and he loves your children even more than you do. Rest in that.”
