Crystal’s Story • The Pregnancy Network

Crystal’s Story

“When I was pregnant, I felt heartbroken,” shared Crystal, one of our recent clients. Overwhelmed by her pregnancy, with bills piling up and a job search underway, Crystal faced one of the hardest seasons of her life. She wasn’t sure she could carry and parent this baby.

A friend pointed her to The Pregnancy Network, where she found the support she needed to overcome her obstacles.

“The staff here is so wonderful,” she said. “There’s always this sense of sweetness about them, and they encourage you. Ever since I came here, it was literally that step-by-step help.”

Crystal found support at first through our Connect Program and completed our Pregnancy 101 class. “The most helpful thing was the information. I didn’t know how to be a mom—I didn’t know anything.”

She found help in navigating relationships and supporting her family. “Even when I went through different things with my spouse, they sent me information on what to do, how to protect myself, how to provide.”

Several months later, Crystal became one of the first women we served through our Case Management Program. “I got behind on rent one time, and they blessed me. That was amazing, they didn’t have to do that.” Crystal started meeting monthly with our Case Management Coordinator to set goals.

Crystal is reaching her goals, despite the odds. She now has her driver’s license, is working toward stable childcare, and is seeking full-time employment to provide for her family’s future.

We’re honored to be part of her journey at The Pregnancy Network.

Crystal reflected, “Sometimes you get into hard times, but God puts people in place. And now I tell everybody else about The Pregnancy Network—because it’s like home.”

Empowered to Thrive: The Case Management Program

Many of the women we serve at the Pregnancy Network want to parent, but they can’t picture themselves doing that without support. They want to go back to school or find jobs, but many of them are single parents navigating the challenge of how to maintain employment and housing while their children need care.

This is why we’re starting the Case Management Program at The Pregnancy Network. We want to empower women to overcome these obstacles by connecting them with resources that make a meaningful impact, such as food assistance, housing, and community referrals. Our goal is to see them achieve holistic life transformation.
