The 2019 Walk for Life is less than 2 weeks away! We are so excited and cannot wait to celebrate with each of you on Saturday, May 4. Our fundraising events, like the Walk for Life, are so important because they give you the opportunity to partner with us in our mission. So get ready to make a difference!
We know you may have some questions about the Walk, so this week we’re laying out the answers to some of the most common questions we get. Don’t see the answer to your question? Comment, call us, or shoot us a message and we’ll be glad to help you out.

Walk for Life FAQs
1. When does everything start on Walk day?
Check-in begins at 9 am, and games and giveaways will start right at 9:15 am. (Giveaway winners must be present at 9:15 am to get your prize!) We’ll be hearing from some special guests before we walk, so make sure you’re there no later than 9:15 am.
2. Can I get my incentives early?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage you to come by the pregnancy center (625 Fulton Street) on Friday, May 3, for Early Check-in. You can stop by anytime between 10 am and 2 pm that day so you’ll have all your swag ready for the Walk.
3. What happens if it rains?
Bust out those galoshes and umbrellas. We walk rain or shine! This mission is too important to let a little weather get in our way.
4. Where should I park?
Free parking is available in the Davie Street parking deck. LeBauer Park is a short walk from there.
5. Can I wear my skates? Ride my hoverboard? Bring my unicycle?
Save your mad skating, unicycling, and hoverboarding skills for another day. However, strollers are welcome!
6. How far will we be walking?
About 2 miles.
7. Everyone gets a t-shirt, right?
Not quite! For an individual to receive a t-shirt, that individual must raise $100 for GPCC. If you’d like to “buy” a t-shirt the morning of the Walk, no problem! T-shirts are $100 each, as they are our first-tier incentive. Thanks for wanting to rep the pregnancy center!
8. Since the Walk is almost here, should I keep raising money, or does GPCC already have enough funds?
Keep fundraising, and keep giving! We haven’t reached our goal of $200,000 yet, and every gift counts. We will also be accepting donations through the 30 days after the Walk, so there will be plenty of time to give. Keep in mind, walking is great awareness, but we want to see people put their money where their feet are.
9. Walking makes me hungry and thirsty. Will there be any sustenance at this here Walk for Life?
You know it! Be sure to stick around after you walk the route, because we will be providing lunch and drinks for everyone! You’ll also want to hang around to hear the final total we’ve raised. It’s going to be awesome.
Get Pumped!
We are so ready to celebrate the changed lives we’ve seen through the work of GPCC–and we are especially excited to celebrate with you! Don’t hesitate to comment, call, or message us with questions in the days leading up to the Walk.
Please continue praying that we would meet our goal and that God would use this event to show our community how the good news about Jesus can change everything, including an unplanned pregnancy. Your generosity fuels the mission of the pregnancy center, so thanks for partnering with us!
We’ll see you there!
