At Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center, our desire is to support women before, during, and after their unplanned pregnancy. We want to help them face their circumstances without fear. One of the practical ways we do that is by offering a free eight-week class for our clients that provides education on healthy pregnancy, labor and delivery, baby care, and so much more.
This class is a great way to connect young moms and dads to peers who are in the same life situations, and it also allows us to build relationships and provide practical material support. What have you enjoyed most about being a part of the parenting class?
I’ve loved meeting young ladies who are going through the same stages of life as I am. I’ve gained a lot of resources and learned so many interesting things about becoming a parent. I’ve enjoyed it so much!
What was the biggest “takeaway” you received from the class?
Definitely learning that it’s important for my baby to make it to 40 weeks (at least 39) if possible.
What would you say to someone who is considering joining the class but is unsure?
Please join! There are no cons, all pros. The things you learn are vital for your pregnancy. You learn so much information that a lot of parents pay for—for free! You also receive gifts: baby clothes, baby necessities, and even personal gifts, which is a really nice touch. You’ll also meet women you can identify with, while at the same time studying and learning new tips and techniques for parenting. It’s awesome!
What are you most looking forward to about being a mom?
Definitely meeting this little girl who has already given me so much joy before we’ve even met. I can’t wait to see her little facial features and to experience loving her unconditionally.
