Melissa Ohden joins us on The Empowered Advocate podcast to share her story. Melissa is the survivor of an attempted saline abortion. Her story of rescue, redemption, and forgiveness is captivating, and she sheds light on the truth that there are hundreds of abortion survivors across the country whose stories have been hidden.
Melissa is a Master’s level prepared Social Worker and the Founder of The Abortion Survivors Network. As an abortion survivor, herself, with a background in crisis counseling, addiction treatment and child welfare, she’s passionate about helping others embrace their lives, find healing, and love and forgive in the midst of difficult circumstances. She’s the author of You Carried Me: A Daughter’s Memoir, and will be releasing a new book, an anthology of survivor stories and abortion survivor history in 2021.
Melissa is a devoted wife to Ryan and mother to her two daughters, Olivia and Ava. They reside in Kansas City, Missouri.
