The 2020 Walk for Life: What You Need to Know

The 2020 Walk for Life will look a bit different than in years past. But let’s be honest—everything looks different than in years past. But if there’s one thing this global pandemic has shown us, it’s that keeping our distance hasn’t kept us from coming together.

In the midst of a time when so much has been lost, our community has rallied together and continued to give generously to keep empowering women to face their unplanned pregnancies without fear. The abortion industry has capitalized on the fear of women throughout the last few months. The need for our free services and support remains great, and that is why we must go.

Our Walk for Life has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 30. This year, we’ll be celebrating with a drive thru parade at Life Community Church. We may not be able to walk together, but we can definitely go the distance together.

We may not be able to walk together, but we can definitely go the distance together.

Here’s What You Need to Know

When: Saturday, May 30. The parade starts at 10 AM and ends at 11 AM.

Where: Life Community Church, 4900 W. Wendover Avenue, Jamestown, NC. You will enter the church parking lot from Piedmont Parkway. Look for signs and volunteers who will help point you in the right direction.

What to Bring: Bring any last minute donations you have for your Walk team. You’ll turn these in at registration. We also encourage you to bring signs sharing why you walk. These signs can be on posterboard, construction paper, or whatever you have around the house. Have everyone in your family write why you walk (for example, “I walk because I believe all life is valuable.” You can view more sign ideas by clicking here!). You can wave these signs outside your car windows as part of the parade!

Pick Up Your Incentives: You will still have the chance to pick up any incentives you earned. After registration, you will pull up beside a table where volunteers will have your incentives ready. You can check out all our awesome incentives by clicking here!

Deck out Your Car: To make this parade extra special, we challenge you to completely deck out your car in the brightest, coolest, most creative ways possible! Use streamers, car paint, balloons, garlands, pool noodles, rolls of toilet paper (just kidding, better save those)—whatever you can think of to show your Walk for Life spirit!

Drive Thru Photo Booth: Halfway through the parade, you’ll stop at a photo booth where you’ll have the chance to roll down your windows for a family picture. No need to exit your car—your car is part of the photo, too! (Here’s a tip: the photo will be taken of the passenger side of your car; so make sure that side looks just how you want it. If you have a van and would like to slide open your door for the picture, make sure to adjust your decorations accordingly. Otherwise you can just roll down your windows.)

The Coolest Car Contest: Make sure you go all out with your car decor, because the most creatively decorated car will win a pretty amazing prize! Pregnancy Network staff members will narrow down the best three cars. We will post the top three cars on our Facebook page; whichever car gets the most votes, wins!

FB Live: The whole parade will be filmed on FB Live, so if you can’t make it to the parade or want to go back and experience the event again, you can head on over to The Pregnancy Network’s Facebook page

#GOtheDistanceTriad: We would love to see pictures of you and your family decorating your car, making signs, and participating in the parade. If you post pictures, be sure to use the hashtag #GOtheDistanceTriad so we don’t miss it!

Go the Distance

If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time! Click here to register now and start raising funds. It takes $1,200 to empower one mom to choose life for her child. How many moms can you empower? Let’s work hard these last few weeks to reach our goal!

We are so excited about this unique way to celebrate the Walk for Life. Let’s come together and show our community that we are willing to go the distance to keep empowering women to face their unplanned pregnancies without fear. We can’t wait to see you there!
