A Client Story

Gia¹ came to the Care Center with her boyfriend, concerned that she was pregnant. The pregnancy test results were positive and she was strongly considering an abortion. Our volunteer advocate gave Gia  information about pregnancy, carrying to term, fetal development, abortion, and adoption, and offered her an ultrasound. Of course, all the information was free to Gia, as well as the ultrasound.

From the ultrasound, it was apparent she was 6-weeks pregnant, which made it difficult to get a fetal heartbeat. Gia was instructed to come back in two weeks to have a repeat-ultrasound for more clarity. As Gia left, the staff and volunteers that met with her prayed that she would return for the follow-up visit. Two weeks later, Gia came back to the Care Center with her boyfriend and had the second ultrasound! This is a great praise, because most of the time, clients who are heavily considering abortion will get one within a few days of receiving a positive pregnancy test and not return to us for help.

Before the ultrasound even began, Gia told her advocate that because of the information given to her and the care she received, they decided to keep the baby and parent their child together. It was very encouraging to hear! She completed the ultrasound and was able to see her more developed baby and hear the baby’s heartbeat.
