A Reason to Celebrate
Well, that’s a wrap! It is still hard to believe that the 2017 Benefit Dinner is in the books. For months our staff team has been preparing for one of our favorite nights of the year. Nothing compares to the excitement and joy that comes the night of the Benefit Dinner, and this year certainly didn’t disappoint. There is just something about women and men partnering together to stand for life with their actions, their voices, and their dollars.
Our preliminary total at the end of the night was $312,000. This week, we were able to confirm our final total: Because of your generosity, Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center raised a grand total of $324,211! That makes this year the most successful Benefit Dinner in GPCC history, and we couldn’t be more grateful and excited! These funds will directly impact our community as we empower women and men to face their unplanned pregnancy without fear. 
The night was fantastic, filled with a bigger silent auction, a fun photo booth, a delicious dinner, a new putting green area and an engaging keynote. Megan Alexander spoke about stepping out in courage as a Christian and having a “seat at the table” when decisions are made in the media, and in this country. But the highlight of the night, by far, was the coming together of more than 400 people from all walks of life who were united in one mission: to continue enabling the Care Center to serve women, men, and the unborn in Greensboro.
A Reason to Keep Working Hard
As many of you already know, our goal for the benefit dinner was $400,000. Not to bore you with a bunch of numbers, but $400,000 is what we needed to raise in order to sustain the mission of the Care Center and provide roughly half of our operating budget for the year. I know what you may be thinking: “Wait a second, you didn’t reach that goal! What are you going to do?”
Well the first thing we are going to do is celebrate! We will celebrate how God provided $312,000 for us to move forward into our future. The second thing we plan on doing is to continue working (and working hard) to grow our medical services and reach even more clients. Just imagine what could happen if we are able to add more medical services next year. Instead of seeing 1000 clients, we could see 2000; instead of sharing the gospel 500 times, we could share it 1000 times. The possibilities are endless, but the funds are limited.
A Reason to Give
So I want to leave you with a two-fold challenge:
- First, if you couldn’t make it to the Benefit Dinner but would like to generously give towards that goal, you can still do so over the next few weeks. Go to our website: thepregnancynetwork.org/benefit and click the “Give Online” button. Each dollar you give directly impacts the lives of our clients. Time and time again, I have not only seen the lives of our clients blessed, but I have also seen the lives of our donors blessed by a simple act of generosity.
- The second part to the challenge is to join us as we celebrate. We are not only celebrating the funds we raised, but also what God is doing and where the Care Center is heading in the next year. That’s exciting! So grab your confetti, balloons, noisemakers, and celebrate with us!
