One of the best parts of my job is getting to host fun events to encourage and motivate people. For example, on Monday, March 5th we hosted our Walk for Life Team Leader Kick-off. It was a fun way to share information, set team goals, and encourage one another.
Does Fundraising Really Matter?
As I was addressing the group on Monday, I wanted to encourage them to think about how vital their roles are as fundraisers. Picture this: It is a Sunday night in the fall—football night in America! Fans are in the stands, cheering, and expecting a good game. Players are out on the field, dressed and in position, ready to play. Officials are in place and announcers lean into their mics. The scene is set and kick-off is seconds away. There is just one problem…
…There’s no football.
No matter how ready the players are, no matter how prepared the coaches feel, it’s a bit difficult to play the game of football without a football. Impossible, actually.
Helping the Players Play
And that’s who we are as fundraisers: We are the people who make sure the players have the football. At the Care Center, we have an amazing staff and wonderful volunteers. Our team is ready to “play the game,” but we need the football—the financial resources to implement the plays in our playbook.

The Care Center’s mission is to empower women and men to face their unplanned pregnancy without fear. We do this through our medical services, educational services, material resources, and mentorship program. However, without the necessary funds, this mission cannot be carried out. As Walk for Life team leaders and team members, we all are fundraisers, and we all have the exciting privilege of making sure the team has the football.

It takes nearly $1200 to empower one mom to choose life for her unborn child here at Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center. In total, the leaders who attended Monday’s kick-off pledged to empower 54 moms! That’s fantastic!
How many moms will you and your team walk to empower? This year’s goal—$150,000—is huge, but we know we can reach it with the help of committed fundraisers just like you.
