5 Parks in the Triad to Visit This Spring

Feeling relieved winter is over? Us, too. During the winter months, the short daylight hours and chilly weather make it difficult to spend time outside. Spring forward and warmer temperatures give us the extra push we need to get fresh air and sunshine.

If you’re looking for some parks to check out in the Triad, you’re in the right place. Keep reading to hear about some of our favorites!

 

1. Bur-Mil Park

Bur-Mil Park boasts 250 acres of lakeside views and walking trails. In addition to walking trails, there are tennis courts, pickleball courts, and a driving range. For a full list of park amenities, visit Guilford County NC’s website.

2. Lebauer Park

 

Located in the heart of downtown Greensboro, this grassy oasis is the perfect spot for a picnic with your family and friends. With a playground adjacent to the park, a cafe, and food kiosks, this is the ideal place for a day trip.

3. Salem Lake 

Salem Lake has trails, fishing spots, and opportunities to go boating just outside of the heart of Winston-Salem. If you’re into spring days by the water, this is your spot.

4. Guilford National Courthouse Military Park

Calling all history buffs! This National Park, located just off Old Battleground Avenue, is both beautiful and informative. Learn about the history of the American Revolutionary War by participating in a self-guided audio tour and looking around at the statues.

5. Keeley Park

This gem located in Northeast Greensboro features a bike pump track, a beginner mountain bike trail, a cross-country course, a disc golf course, an outdoor fitness area, and more. Keeley Park also includes many accessible features great for those with special needs.
