Abortion Pill Information

Considering taking the abortion pill? It’s important to be fully informed on all your options.

A woman who’s pregnant has three options: abortion, parenting, or adoption. At The Pregnancy Network, we provide information on all of your options to help you make an empowered choice.

The abortion pill was approved by the FDA for use only up until 10 weeks gestation. When dating your pregnancy by LMP, or last menstrual period, this is approximately 10 weeks since your last period.

Getting an ultrasound is a crucial part of making an informed decision and protecting your health. An ultrasound confirms the location of the pregnancy and the gestational age of the fetus.

Confirming the location of the pregnancy rules out an ectopic pregnancy, which is not a viable pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy is located outside of the uterus and is considered a medical emergency. Ectopic pregnancies will not end as a result of the abortion pill. Knowing the gestational age of the fetus informs you of whether you’re eligible for the abortion pill.

For more information on each of your options, visit the pages below, or make an appointment to meet with one of our Registered Nurses.
