Accessibility of Abortions
Last week, we discovered a new abortion clinic has opened here in Greensboro. They provide abortions, both surgical and medical, up to 19 weeks and 6 days. That keeps them in compliance with the abortion law in North Carolina which restricts abortions over 20 weeks gestation. The abortion clinic also provides free pregnancy tests to all women, whether they choose to have an abortion or not. However, they do not provide free ultrasounds like we do at the Care Center. Ultrasounds are included in the price of an abortion.
I was saddened by the addition of a third abortion provider in Greensboro. The accessibility of abortions in this community is growing. We desperately need to provide an alternative for women facing unplanned pregnancies. Having a mobile ultrasound unit is the most effective way to provide that alternative. It will allow us to go to women during their crisis situation.
$75k Match Update
As you may know already, a generous donor has offered a $75,000 match toward the purchase of a mobile ultrasound unit. He has challenged our donors to raise $75,000 by Saturday, October 31, in order to receive this match. This money would allow us to purchase the unit and be on track to launch it in the spring of 2016.

We still need $15,380 in the next three days to reach the full $75,000! That’s $5,000 a day, or 15 people giving us $1,000 each. Remember, this includes pledges, so if you can give us $1,200 over the next year that would only be $100 per month.
Accessibility of Our Services
If the accessibility of abortions is increasing, then accessibility to our services must not only increase, but surpass that of the abortion providers.
Your money will make a difference in the lives of real women and men in our community. Please help us make it through Phase 1 of our strategic plan, and please begin to consider how you can help us through the upcoming additional phases of our plan (over the next 3-5 years) to make abortion unnecessary in Greensboro.
