What to Expect
The evening includes dinner, a Silent Auction, ministry update, and keynote speaker. There will also be an opportunity to give at the close of the evening. Doors open and the Silent Auction begins at 5:30 PM; dinner is served at 6:30 PM.
The Silent Auction features a wide variety of items, including art, jewelry, vacation stays, and even a puppy! Bidding will be open to the public, regardless of Gala attendance. The auction will close at 7 PM on Friday, October 21. The link to bid will be posted on our website and social media pages, so make sure you’re following us on Facebook and Instagram so you won’t miss your opportunity to shop.
Our goal for the evening is to raise $800,000, the funds needed to empower 500 women to face their unplanned pregnancies without fear. At the end of the evening, attendees will have an opportunity to partner with us in this mission by giving financial support. It takes $1,500 to empower one woman to choose life for her unborn child. How many women could you empower?
Keynote Speaker, Christina Bennett
We are excited to welcome this year’s speaker, Christina Bennett. Christina was going to be aborted, but a miraculous encounter saved her life moments before the scheduled termination. Upon discovering this news in college, she committed her life to fight for the ending of abortion. After graduating college with a degree in Business Communications she moved to Washington D.C. to serve as a pro-life prayer missionary at the Justice House of Prayer and later in Atlanta as a missionary at the International House of Prayer Atlanta.
Christina is a writer whose work has been featured in Live Action News, Life News, Charisma, and LifeSite News, among other publications. Her story is featured in the film Pro-Life Feminist, Still on that Journey, and Hear from Heaven. She has had the honor of testifying for the pro-life cause in two congressional hearings. Christina served four years as a Client Services Manager at a CT pregnancy center and currently works as the Communications Director for the Family Institute of Connecticut. She is a devoted wife, mother, and licensed Christian minister.
The Work is Just Beginning
Now that Roe is overturned, decisions about abortion restrictions return to the states. Many states surrounding North Carolina are imposing greater restrictions on abortion, whereas abortion remains legal in NC up to 20 weeks of pregnancy. Many states are pointing to NC as an “abortion safe haven”; consequently, we’ve seen an increase in women traveling to North Carolina to seek abortions.
When abortion is harder to access or has greater restrictions, many women may feel pressure to make a quick decision before considering all their options. The compassionate, quality care of pregnancy centers is needed now more than ever.
