Faith and Unplanned Pregnancy

Hannah* sat with her RN and trained peer advocate at her appointment at The Pregnancy Network. She shared how, though she was anxious about challenges ahead, her faith in Christ would get her through. She was confident in her faith, and thankful she could trust in God’s plan for her life.

After the appointment, our nurse found something amazing.

As she filed Hannah’s paperwork, she realized this wasn’t Hannah’s first visit to The Pregnancy Network. Two years ago she came to us for our free medical services. At that time, her responses were much different.

Every woman we serve completes a questionnaire at her appointment that includes questions about her support system, beliefs and values. We ask these questions so we can better understand her perspective, and connect her with resources that are specific to her needs. We count it a blessing to serve women in our community from a diverse array of backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences. It is a priority to ensure each woman is shown respect and empathy.

Two years ago, Hannah noted on her questionnaire that she wasn’t sure if she believed in God – faith had no part in her life. Two years ago she had never heard the biblical message about Jesus’ perfect life, death, and resurrection.

Two years ago she gave us permission to share this message with her at her appointment.

That day, the story of God’s grace planted a seed of faith in Hannah’s heart. When she returned to us for a second visit, it was beautiful to see her share her Christian faith with confidence.

The Pregnancy Network’s free medical services are a crucial resource for women in the Triad, but a woman’s spiritual health is equally important. Our desire is to serve every woman holistically; we do this by addressing physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of each woman we see.

It is a joy and privilege to tell each woman we meet that she is loved by our Creator. That she is fearfully and wonderfully made. That she has someone in her corner to walk with her through her journey.

Your worldview will have a huge impact on the choices you make about your pregnancy. We are here for you to provide the medical services and resources you need. But we are also here to talk with you about how your beliefs inform your decision.

If you’d like to hear more about our free resources, mentoring program, or medical services we would love to talk with you! Please call us at 336-274-4881 or make an appointment here
