Hiring: Volunteer Coordinator

Position Summary

The Volunteer Coordinator responsibilities include recruitment, training, and ongoing development of all volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator will work with the Associate Executive Director to set goals and make volunteer development better over time; other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Associate Executive Director (Primary); Other Directors (Secondary)

Manages: Related Volunteers

Hours: 25/week (Part-Time)

Pay: Based on experience

Holidays and Benefits: 12 paid holidays (5 hours/holiday); 5 hours per month accrual of Paid Time Off (PTO); Retirement option (SIMPLE IRA) after 1 year of employment matched up to 3%

Position Competencies

  1. Ability to effectively network with potential volunteers and community partners who can aid in volunteer recruitment
  2. Excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups
  3. Keep on track with big goals and plan/delegate responsibilities to accomplish them
  4. Evaluate and manage volunteer metrics and statistics
  5. Able to identify and develop emerging leaders
  6. Available and willing to counsel volunteers and give sound, biblical advice that aligns with center beliefs

Qualifications for Employment

  • Must be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, including membership in good-standing, and attendance of a local church
  • Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the life-affirming position and sexual purity
  • Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith and policies of the Care Center
  • Have at least one year of experience in ministry, or as a volunteer in some ministry capacity
  • Have some experience leading others in a vocational or volunteer setting
  • Some experience presenting in public settings, preferred

  • Administratively gifted in order to keep track of people, helping them onboard as efficiently as possible, and tracking their progress over time

Essential Responsibilities of the Position

  • Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding
      1. Manage the recruitment of all volunteers; may need to attend health or ministry fairs, church events, and other community events to do so
      2. Foster partnerships with other organizations and ministries, especially churches and Love Life Triad, to recruit new volunteers
      3. Responsible to conduct open house events
      4. Manage the onboarding process, which includes managing the leadership pipeline, keeping up with where each volunteer is in the process
      5. Work with ministry directors to manage the initial training of all volunteers; responsible to ensure volunteers are trained appropriately on whichever team they join
      6. Manage and report statistical information for recruitment and onboarding
  • Volunteer Development
    1. Manage regular evaluations for volunteers, holding ministry area directors accountable to conduct ongoing trainings and evaluations, as needed
    2. Responsible to conduct the all-volunteer/staff gatherings held biannually
    3. Regular appreciation for volunteers (birthdays, illnesses, family issues, etc.)
    4. Work with ministry directors to manage and report statistical information for volunteer service across the entire ministry
    5. Work with Associate Executive Director to improve onboarding and volunteer development over time
