Mental Health Resources in the Triad

If you’re experiencing mental health struggles in your pregnancy, postpartum, or post-abortion period, you may feel overwhelmed by looking for healthcare. We get it—so we did the research for you. Here’s our list of recommended mental health resources in the Triad area:

Family Service of the Piedmont: Family Service offers counseling for many mental health conditions in-person and through telehealth. They accept Medicaid and offer payment on a sliding scale based on income, as low as $0. They also offer counseling services in Spanish!

Restoration Place Counseling: Restoration Place provides counseling for girls and women (ages 12+) who are experiencing depression/anxiety, effects of current or past abuse (emotional, physical, spiritual), relationship issues and boundaries, self-esteem/self-image issues, spiritual issues or are survivors of childhood sexual abuse. RPC offers a sliding payment scale with counseling sessions as low as $25.

The Kellin Foundation:  The Kellin Foundation offers counseling services to children, teens, adults, and families. They approach mental health from a whole-family perspective, treating concerns including depression, anxiety, grief, stress management, parent-child relationships, addictions, and many more. They offer individual counseling, integrated mental health and substance use counseling, and group counseling.

Trinity Christian Counseling: Trinity Christian Counseling offers a wide variety of counseling services for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. They accept Medicaid. 

Mental Health Association (Forsyth County): The Mental Health Association (MHA) offers short-term counseling, jail diversion services for people with mental illnesses, and referrals for local resources. They will help you find mental health disorder services, community mental health services, community support programs, and substance use disorder services. They also offer support groups for various mental health disorders.

The UNCG Psychology Clinic: This clinic provides individual and group therapy services to children, teens, adults, and families. They provide therapy for a wide variety of mental health conditions, as well as assessments for mental health disorders/diagnoses. Financial assistance is available with fees as low as $20 per session. 

Good Life Therapy PLLC: Brittany Crossen, LCMHC-A, specializes in therapy services for adults, emerging adults, college students, professional athletes, and children in 3rd-5th grade. She offers a “pay what you can program” for young adults 18-25 without insurance. 

Women’s Resource Center: The Women’s Resource Center provides free community education workshops on topics related to financial, physical, emotional, and relationship health. They also provide support groups and other resources. 

Seeds of Healing Counseling Group: This organization emphasizes healing in community, recognizing all the environmental factors that go into an individual’s ability to care for their wellbeing. They are based outside North Carolina but offer remote therapy options. Millennials and their families are their focus. 

Metis Counseling Group: This organization offers a wide range of counseling services for issues like depression and anxiety, crisis and trauma, family and parenting, mood disorders, and more. The Metis Counseling Group is in-network with many insurance providers. Their interns offer pro bono services. The Client Services and Case Management Coordinator on staff at The Pregnancy Network recommends counseling with Brittany James.
