Last November, the Board of Directors and staff began planning for the next stage in the future of Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center. We divided the outcome of our planning into three phases, ultimately ending in a medical clinic. I want to give you a progress report as to where we are in the first phase, “Going Mobile,” of our Strategic Plan, which has the potential to double our client-base within the first year.
After much research and talking with other Care Centers in North Carolina that have mobile units, we decided to purchase an RV on our own and not affiliate with Image Clear Ultrasound. ICU will, however, still provide training for us if we choose.
Purchasing a vehicle on our own will not only save us money, but will also allow us to wrap the unit with our own brand. We are currently in the process of looking for an RV to buy. After that, we will have it refurbished on the inside to meet our medical needs and wrapped on the outside with our graphics.
As of today, we are just over 13% of the funds needed to complete Phase 1. We are now asking you to help us raise $141,650 by July 15. This will bring us to about 34% of this phase and keep us on target to launch the mobile unit next Spring, 2016. It will enable us to go ahead and purchase a unit now, alter it to meet our needs, and begin searching for staff to run the unit at its launch.
Because we’re a Christian organization, we believe prayer is important. We are praying that you will embrace our vision and see the need for a mobile ultrasound unit in Greensboro. A girl in an unplanned pregnancy will make a decision about the outcome of her pregnancy within 9 days of finding out she’s pregnant. We need to get to these girls during their crisis situation and not just wait for them to come to us. We believe God will do great things and your donations help to make that happen. You’re not just giving, you’re partnering with us to “make abortion unnecessary” in our city.
