Your Steps to Success

The Pregnancy Network’s proven Success Sequence is an intentional model that helps women to be well-prepared for their next steps. These levels of service have helped  women facing an unplanned pregnancy  feel confident and empowered to take control of their futures. These steps create a support system and equip women to continue to pursue their goals.

We care about you and your future. If you follow these steps to success, the result will be your optimal health. We hope you will take these steps with us!

Your Steps to Success

 Step One: Make an Appointment

The free medical services we offer include medical-grade pregnancy tests, STD testing and treatment, and limited ultrasounds.  At your appointment, we will talk about your options and the resources available to you.

If you think you might be pregnant, make a free appointment for a pregnancy test today.

Here one of our registered nurses walks you through what to expect at your appointment for a free pregnancy test.

Whenever possible, we can pair your appointment for a pregnancy test with an appointment for a free limited ultrasound.  We are the only organization in Guilford County to provide free ultrasound services.

An ultrasound can provide helpful insight into how far along you are in your pregnancy, confirm that the pregnancy is not ectopic, and that the pregnancy is developing normally. Ultrasounds are overseen by a volunteer medical board consisting of local medical doctors who are board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. These doctors ensure our policies and procedures remain at the highest standards.

One of our Medical Directors, Dr. Charlie Pickens, explains what he is looking for when he reviews ultrasound scans.

We also offer free STD testing for women, including testing and treatment for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Our staff Registered Nurses administer tests and treatment, and can answer any questions you have about your sexual health.

Step Two: Make a Healthy Choice

You owe it to yourself to be fully informed before making a decision about your pregnancy. We believe women have a right to know what’s being done to their bodies before a procedure is performed. Because we care about your health, we do not perform or refer for abortions. However, we will discuss the different kinds of abortion procedures and the risks involved.

 Step Three: Equip Yourself

We are fortunate to live in a resource-rich area. We are happy to connect you with local organizations that can help provide care and the items you need. If you don’t have health insurance, we can walk you through how to enroll in pregnancy medicaid, which will cover the cost of your prenatal care and delivery.

Additionally, we offer free educational classes. More than 90 men and women have participated in our free classes this year. Check out what women are saying about our free educational classes:

Pregnancy 101

Pregnancy 101 is our most popular class. This group class will equip you with essentials for having a healthy pregnancy and delivery. This class is facilitated by a trained advocate and guest speakers who are professionals in their fields. Class topics include: healthy eating, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and more. At the end of each class you attend, you will receive a gift from us. Gifts may include: diapers and wipes, baby and maternity clothes, bottles, furniture, and more.

Parenting 101

This group class equips you with the essentials you need for parenting your 0-18 month old. This class is facilitated by a trained advocate and guest speakers who are professionals in their fields. Topics include: baby blues, budgeting, infant CPR, and more. At the end of each class, you will receive a gift from us.

Abortion Recovery

If you’ve had an abortion, we understand what you may be feeling. Come meet with a group, or one-on-one, to talk openly about choosing to heal from your experience. Abortion Recovery will help you work through the difficulties and tensions you may be facing after having an abortion.

 Step Four: Be Mentored

The global pandemic has been a season of loneliness for many. For women facing an unplanned pregnancy, the isolation can feel even greater. At The Pregnancy Network, the Connect Mentorship program has been a solution for many of the women in our community who have needed support during this unpredictable time.

The Connect Mentorship program is designed to connect you with women who will walk alongside you, and both encourage and challenge you in your life. Whether you’re looking for wisdom about parenting, guidance in your relationships, or desire to grow closer in your relationship with God, this program is a great opportunity for you. Building strong relationships with other women will help you create a long term healthy support network.

Over 10% of the women we serve opt to enroll in this program. Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 58 women have applied for the Connect Mentorship program. If you would like to apply for the program or find out more, visit ThePregnancyNetwork.org/Connect.

We are honored to partner with women on their journey. Many of our staff and volunteers have walked through an unplanned pregnancy themselves, and understand what you may be feeling and the challenges you are facing. As one of the women we served put it, she felt she had “someone in her corner” at The Pregnancy Network.  Make an appointment for our free services, or find out more about resources and support we can offer at ThePregnancyNetwork.org. We can’t wait to help you get started on your steps to success!
