It’s hard to believe that the 2016 Benefit Dinner has already come and gone. We at the Care Center are still reeling from last week’s fast pace. Needless to say, we were very appreciative of Saturday afterward (aka “take a nap” day).
If you weren’t able to make it to the event, or haven’t already heard us shouting it from the rooftops, we were able to raise more than $323,000 on Friday night (insert balloons and confetti and jubilant celebration here)!
Our goal was $250,000, which would provide roughly half of our annual budget at GPCC. As we watched our fundraising thermometer quickly climb to this goal marker and then continue rising on Friday night, we couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the selfless generosity on display before us.
As Christians, we believe generosity is inseparable from our faith. We believe that giving to provide for the needs of others serves as a conduit for sharing the love of God. In other words, financial generosity meets physical needs and then gives us the opportunity to meet spiritual needs as well.
The night was an absolute blast, filled with a silent auction, photo booth, delicious dinner, and engaging keynotes. Jason and David Benham were kind of hilarious, but had a very sobering message for us to engage our culture, whatever the cost. But the highlight of the night, by far, was the coming together of more than 400 people from all walks of life who were united in one mission: to continue enabling the Care Center to serve women, men, and the unborn in Greensboro.
We are blown away by what was accomplished last weekend and we’re so excited about the future of Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center.
