The 2020 Virtual Gala for Life Results: 468 Mothers Will Be Empowered

The Gala for Life looked a little different than in years past, but it was no less impactful. Across the Triad, church groups, friends, family and individuals joined together for The Pregnancy Network’s Virtual Gala for Life watch parties. It was wonderful to see so many partners in our community open their homes to change their city and empower mothers facing unplanned pregnancies.

468 Mothers Will Be Empowered

We are thrilled to share that we exceeded our goal of $550,000, and raised a grand total of $561,721 during the Virtual Gala for Life as a result of your generous giving. Thank you for fueling the mission. We are in awe of how God has provided this year. With these funds we can continue to offer  much-needed support—medical services, education, resources and mentorship—to women facing unplanned pregnancies. These resources empower women to make a healthy choice for their futures, and to choose life for their child. The funds raised during the Virtual Gala for Life will empower 468 moms.

As part of the virtual Gala for Life program, we heard an inspiring message from our keynote speaker—NFL Star and Super Bowl Champion Benjamin Watson. We also shared how The Pregnancy Network has remained open and continued to serve women and families in the Triad, even in the midst of a global pandemic.

Royal’s Story

We had the honor of sharing an interview with Royal, one of the women we’ve had the privilege of serving at The Pregnancy Network. Following the recommendation of one of her friends, who  also came to us for our services, Royal decided to make an appointment. “My friend…she put me where I needed to be,” Royal shared.  Royal came to her first appointment feeling “overwhelmed and scared,” and uncertain about continuing her pregnancy. When she left her first appointment, she felt empowered and encouraged knowing she had support.

“That was the turning point for me,” Royal said. ”[It] felt good to be able to know that I got up enough strength and courage [to choose life].”

She and one of our registered nurses, Lauren, have continued their relationship ever since they met at Royal’s appointment. Royal noted that because of COVID-19, pregnancy has been “a little bit different…people can’t come to your visits, it’s been everything by yourself. So just to have someone reach out to you, ask you if everything’s okay…I was just so excited and happy that I met [Lauren] and came here to get this experience. I would recommend it to anyone.”

Royal’s precious daughter was born on November 2nd, and we couldn’t be more proud of this beautiful mother’s bravery.

Like Royal, many women come to The Pregnancy Network feeling uncertain about their future. Because of the services made possible by our volunteers and generous donors, we are able to offer encouragement to women so they can face their unplanned pregnancies without fear.

Your support truly makes a difference for women and families across the Triad.
