We are super excited to have picked up our mobile unit this week! It’s now with a specialty vehicle company here in Greensboro. They will make the necessary changes to the interior and exterior so it can make the transformation from an RV to a mobile ultrasound unit. The timeline is much quicker than we anticipated, which is great! That just means we can launch the unit sooner than we first expected.
The official launch date (as long as the unit is done within the projected timeframe) will be Saturday, April 23, 2016, at our annual Walk for Life event! Please plan to participate in the event with us. Visit the Walk for Life webpage here. You’ll be able to tour the unit that day and see what our future clients will experience.
In light of launching the mobile ultrasound unit, we’re asking our partners to consider 2 things:
1. Participate in the Walk for Life
We’re encouraging as many churches as possible to participate in the Walk for Life. We believe this is an opportunity for them to stand with us in the fight against abortion; not in a confrontational way, but in a peaceful way. We believe abortion harms women, so we don’t perform or refer for abortions. But, we don’t stand over those considering abortion in condemnation, either; we stand with them in love. We want to empower them to face their unplanned pregnancy without fear. So, let’s communicate that to the rest of Greensboro by gathering together in honor of human life. Abortion is one of the greatest human atrocities we’ve ever faced in our culture. The least we can do as Christians is stand up in the public square and be a voice for those who have none, and be a voice of reason against the false perspective that abortion is somehow “healthcare” for women.
2. Consider Giving to the Mobile Unit
We have currently raised just over $260,000 toward Phase 1 of our Strategic Plan. That’s amazing! I’m in awe that God has provided so much so quickly. However, the total cost to complete Phase 1 is $367,300. That leaves over $100,000 to raise. Additionally, the mobile unit will add a significant amount (nearly $50,000) more to our annual operating budget each year. Will you help us meet these costs? Your generosity fuels the mission of the Care Center.
We can’t empower women and men facing unplanned pregnancy without your help. It’s time for Christians to “put their money where their mouth is,” so to speak. Let’s stand together for women and for their children. Together we can make abortion unnecessary in Greensboro!
