Walk for Life Recap
Our annual Walk for Life event this year was phenomenal. We had triple the number of supporters this year than last, we raised over $50,000, and we launched our first ever mobile ultrasound unit! We’d like to thank everyone for their participation and support. What a day!
We hope to see this event only grow in the future. Who knows, we may see 1000 people come out to raise awareness and support for the Care Center in 2017!
It’s going to take all of us working together to make abortion unnecessary in Greensboro. That’s one of our goals. Abortion is most often chosen out of fear, so we want to help our clients face their fears, empowering and equipping them to move forward in their circumstances.
The launch of our mobile unit will help us reach more people to that end. Below are some pictures of the new unit in case you haven’t seen it. If you’d like to see the interior, please feel free to come by for a tour! We would love to walk you through what a typical appointment looks like.
Finishing Phase 1
As you’re likely aware, Phase 1 of our strategic plan is nearly complete. The work we do on the mobile unit will continue on, of course; but the groundwork has been laid and most of the funds have been raised.
We’ve raised over $270,000 for the mobile unit so far. However, we really need to raise $70,000 more to ensure we can run the mobile unit for its first year of service. Once we have that in-hand, this will become a normal line-item in our annual budget, increasing the annual budget to over $500,000.
$20k Match:
We recently had a generous donor who offered to give us a $20,000 match toward that $70k! That means if you give to this final push for Phase 1, your contribution will be doubled until we get past the $20k mark. We need to raise the entire $70k by May 31st, before we begin our new fiscal year in July.
If you’ve supported us already, thank you. We know that we’ve asked a lot of you this year. But though we’ve asked for much, if you’ve given, you’ve seen much in return! If you’ve given to Phase 1 or to the Care Center’s general budget already, you’ve gotten to participate in our mission with us.
You’ve made a difference in clients’ lives like Morgan and Mercedes. You’ve helped take us one step closer to making abortion unnecessary in our community. You’ve helped make our services possible. Our staff and board of directors, as well as many of our volunteers, also give financially to the Care Center. We believe in our mission.
Will you keep on with us? Will you mobilize those in your sphere of influence who may also want to fuel the mission of the Care Center with their generosity?
