We Got the Match
As you may know, during the month of October a generous family challenged our supporters with a $75,000 match toward Phase 1 of our 3-Phase strategic plan. We needed to raise $75,000 by October 31 to receive the matching money.
We are so happy to announce that we will be receiving that matching $75,000! That means we now have the funds to purchase the mobile ultrasound unit! Our staff and board are so encouraged by the results.
As a Christian organization, we believe God providentially worked to provide for the mission of the Care Center. On Friday, October 30, in particular, we saw Him work in marvelous ways. We started the day at $64,000, still needing $11,000 to hit our goal. Then, almost as soon as we walked in the door, the phone started ringing with donors wanting to give and people even began to come to the Care Center with checks in hand. We watched our online giving add up hourly. By the end of the day we were well over our $75,000 goal.
Stories from Partners
Reaching the goal was great, but hearing the stories from the hearts of some of our partners was even better. One donor took money out of his retirement fund because he was so moved to help the unborn and support women in crisis situations. Another donor, passionate about ending abortion, not only gave but reached out to a friend who also generously gave a large donation. And still another donor told us that he had wanted to give for some time, but now realized the urgency of the Care Center becoming an alternative to Planned Parenthood. These stories affirmed to us that we are not alone.
Final Totals
By Saturday evening, we raised $103,629 with an additional $28,000 from the Knights of Columbus designated for the ultrasound machine that will go on the unit. That is a total of $131,629!
Now, with the matching $75,000, as well as the money we already collected for the Mobile Unit before October, we have over $260,000 for Phase 1 of our Strategic Plan! This will allow us to purchase the mobile unit, pay for the annual maintenance and fees, buy the ultrasound machine, and staff the unit with two part-time employees.
We praise God for what He has done and will continue to do through this strategic plan. We believe he can use this to affect the lives of many women and men facing unplanned pregnancy in our community. Thank you so much for partnering with Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center to make abortion unnecessary in Greensboro.
