The issue of abortion can be hard to wrap our minds around. We hear numbers describing the impact of abortion; things like, “4 out of 10 unplanned pregnancies end in abortion,” or “1 in 3 women will have an abortion in her lifetime.”

These numbers may make us feel uncomfortable for a moment, but in all honesty, are easy to dismiss or push from our minds. After all, what are we really supposed to do with numbers like that? What can we really do about 1.2 million abortions per year in the United States? Especially when we consider that this is only a fraction of the abortions taking place throughout the world. Only 3% of the world’s abortions take place in North America.

These numbers are astronomical. Too much for any one person to do something about, right?

But when you consider that each one of those numbers is more than just a number—that each one is a person, a face, a life—then this changes things.

When you consider that every day more than 3,000 children’s lives are lost—no, taken—it suddenly becomes more real.

That’s more than 125 humans every hour.

One life every 30 seconds.

Yes, this changes everything.

Lives are ending here in Greensboro, every day of the week. And the unborn are not the only victims. Mothers and fathers are often left to process and grieve on their own. They are told that abortion is normal, like getting your tonsils out, and that they shouldn’t feel any guilt or remorse for something so routine and justifiable.

Abortion harms, scars, and damages everyone involved.

And it continues to do so in Greensboro. Every day of the week.

So the question remains: What will you do about it?

In a few weeks, Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center is hosting its annual Benefit Dinner. This high-capacity fundraising event offers a practical answer to the above question. The Care Center exists to remove the perceived need for abortion in Greensboro by offering free services to women and men in unplanned pregnancy. Our desire is to be the best at what we do, and to do that we need your help.

Would you consider making an investment in the unborn faces whose lives are in danger in Greensboro?

Would you consider giving generously so that young mothers and fathers don’t feel as if abortion is their only option?

We all give daily to things of much lesser value: cups of coffee, fast food, or other personal comforts. What sacrifice could you make for something of the highest value: a human life?

To learn more about how you can partner with us in protecting unborn life and valuing the lives of men and women in Greensboro, check out our benefit dinner page or give us a call. We’d love to talk with you about impacting not just numbers, but people’s lives. Together we can make abortion unnecessary.
