The Pregnancy Network in Winston-Salem is Now Open!

Expansion Winston-Salem development coordinator

After over 35 years of service in Greensboro, this week The Pregnancy Network opened a new Winston-Salem location. Our staff and ministry partners celebrated the expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the opportunity to get a first look after weeks of renovations.

Located at 811 W. Fifth Street, the new office in downtown Winston-Salem is near Forsyth Tech. Community College and Carolina University. Finishing touches to create a welcoming, safe space for women were completed last week.

Communications Director Mary Holloman shared a tour of the new location that you can view in the video below.

Our mission is to empower women to face their unplanned pregnancies without fear. We are thankful for those who have partnered with us in our mission to make support accessible to even more women in the Triad. It is exciting to see how God has blessed The Pregnancy Network and allowed this ministry to grow.

Empowering Women through Support

The Pregnancy Network will continue to offer three levels of support — medical services, education and material support, and mentorship — at the new location.

The Pregnancy Network hosts free classes (Pregnancy 101 and Parenting 101) that cover a range of topics from breastfeeding to Infant CPR. Class attendees receive baby items for each class they attend.  As part of The Pregnancy Network’s COVID-19 response plan, these classes have been offered virtually via Zoom. Despite the change to virtual classes, attendees said they were able to find connection and support. One class attendee shared this review:

"They presented a great class even in the midst of COVID-19, where I learned so much and connected with so many moms!"

Women can also take part in Connect Mentorship – a free program that pairs women with a volunteer mentor for ongoing, personalized support. The organization also provides free Abortion Recovery programs, providing a compassionate, safe space for women to find support.

In the midst of COVID-19, the unique support offered at The Pregnancy Network became crucial during a time of isolation. One woman shared that she made an appointment following the recommendation of one of her friends, who had also visited The Pregnancy Network. At her appointment, she was connected with one of the registered nurses on staff who stayed in touch with her throughout her pregnancy:

[Due to COVID-19 things are] a little bit different…people can’t come to your visits, it’s been everything by yourself. So just to have someone reach out to you, ask you if everything’s okay…I was just so excited and happy that I met her and came here to get this experience.”

Of the expansion, Executive Director Judy Roderick noted, “The Pregnancy Network will continue to empower women through holistic care. Our ministry exists so that each woman is fully-informed about her choices and the resources available to her. Our proven Success Sequence equips and empowers women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy to continue to pursue their goals.”
