You’re pregnant, and it wasn’t planned. You might be feeling emotions like fear and shame. We get it. It’s common to feel this way!
Tell yourself these three things instead:
1. Blame isn’t helping me.
Maybe you feel guilty for how you got pregnant. But blaming yourself doesn’t help you. You might even call this your greatest blessing someday! Set aside the blame, and begin experiencing your new future.
2. I’m worthy of love and care.
You’re entering a season where you need extra support, regardless of your choice about your pregnancy. It’s important to remember that as a human you’re worthy of love and care. You are not the sum of your successes and mistakes.
3. My future is not over.
Your future has shifted, yes. You will likely experience sleepless nights and a different lifestyle. You will also likely experience unprecedented personal growth, a deeper sense of purpose, and a sweeter love in your life!
Your goals are still possible. If you’re in school, for example, remember that students who are parents are more likely to succeed.
